In-Patient Unit Visitation Guidelines for the COVID-19 Pandemic

We are honored that you have entrusted us to care for your loved ones. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of all those that enter our environment through social distancing, masking and hand hygiene practices. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has directed hospitals to place strict limitations on visitation. Below are our visitation and screening guidelines and any restrictions that may apply.

Currently, there are NO visitors allowed with the following exceptions:

  1. Those visiting a patient in critical condition when death may be imminent
  2. Patient is at end-of-life
  3. Emergent situations
  4. Parent or guardians of pediatric patients
  5. A support person for labor and delivery patient
  6. Bonding visits including in-room stay with a newborn and hospitalized parent
  7. Support person or visitor for patients with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments

VISITORS are required to comply with the following:

  • Go directly to the patient care unit and room where their loved one is located.
  • No eating or drinking at any time indoors, including in lobbies or patient rooms
  • Exceptions to the food and drink policy will be made in:  Labor & Deliver, Post-Partum and Pediatrics.
  • Depart the facility at the end of the visitation time-period

ALL VISITORS MUST SHOW PROOF FOR ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Proof of Vaccination:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card
  • Photo of COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (photo or image on phone/electronic device)
  • Medical documentation of COVID-19 vaccination from a health care provider
  • To request a digital COVID-19 vaccine record, visit: cairweb.org or myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.

Proof of Negative COVID Test:

  • Documentation of negative SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) test where the specimen collection occurred within 48 hours before with PCR testing and 24 hours with antigen testing, and for which test results are available at the time of entry to the facility.
  • The PCR or antigen test must have Emergency Use Authorization by USFDA or be operating under the Laboratory Developed Test requirements by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • At-home or self-administered tests will not be accepted, per CDPH.
  • To locate a Los Angeles County COVID testing facility, visit: covid19.lacounty.gov/testing

Proof of Recovery from COVID-19 within 90 days:

  • Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors may provide documentation from a provider detailing when they tested positive for COVID and when they were released from isolation and recovered.

All visitors will be required to wear a hospital-provided mask within our facilities regardless of vaccination status.

Please note that this visitation policy is subject to change and may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the hospital.
