Watch for new training assignments on workplace violence prevention

PROVIDENCE OREGON – Our workplace violence prevention program is rolling out important new training assignments on HealthStream.

The training is required for all caregivers with face-to-face patient contact, in order to meet new Joint Commission standards. This includes:

  • ancillary caregivers
  • acute care nurses and clinical technicians
  • medical group caregivers
  • providers in acute care and ambulatory settings

The purpose of these training exercises is to review workplace violence prevention and reduction strategies, and provide tools and techniques to recognize, diffuse, and de-escalate difficult situations in the health care environment. The presentations include interactive, scenario-based e-learning.

Several different training classes will be assigned, depending on caregiver roles. Training will be posted between now and early November, with completion required by Dec. 31. A course summary is available online
