Removing barriers to lifesaving medications

Providence Montana’s Medication Assistance Program ensures that patients have affordable access to lifesaving prescription medication.

Providence Montana’s Medication Assistance Program (MAP) ensures affordable access to lifesaving prescription medication, supporting patients at Providence St. Patrick Hospital, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and Providence Montana Medical Group clinics.

The MAP patient liaisons provide free medication assistance to uninsured or underinsured patients by helping them enroll for free or discounted medications from pharmaceutical companies, access copay cards and free trial offers, apply for diagnosis-based funding, join cost-saving programs like Medicare Part D, and obtain critical infusion and cancer treatment medications.

“Programs like MAP are invaluable, as they remove financial barriers that prevent patients from accessing and staying on essential, and often lifesaving, treatments,” Corrie Rogers, MAP senior patient liaison, said. By easing the burden of medication-related costs, MAP helps to improve adherence, reduce stress and allow patients to stay on track with their care.”

MAP received over $1.5 million in diagnosis-based funding grants in 2025, ensuring patients could follow their recommended course of treatment. The Providence Montana program served more than 1,000 patients in 2025, including 357 patients who received medications that treat cancer, cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases. They also helped patients by offering financial support for travel expenses, treatment-related medical expenses, and Medicare Part B premiums for patients who qualified.
