Together, Providence caregivers raise a strong, united voice to protect access to health care for vulnerable communities. Through sustained Government Affairs advocacy, caregivers work year-round to advance policies that support Medicaid, strengthen public health programs and ensure patients can continue to receive the care they need.
In 2025, Providence engaged with policymakers at the federal and state levels, meeting with lawmakers more than 100 times and working alongside national partners to elevate the importance of Medicaid and affordable coverage. Through the Many Faces of Medicaid campaign, caregivers and patients shared real stories from our communities, resulting in more than 7,000 messages sent directly to Congress that highlighted the human impact of health policy decisions.
These efforts reflect a systemwide commitment to shaping health policy through informed, Mission-driven advocacy that centers on the lived experiences of those most affected by policy changes. While the health care policy landscape remains complex and challenging, including significant legislative actions that impact Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, our advocacy does not stop at any single initiative.
Providence remains deeply engaged in influencing how policy changes are implemented, working to mitigate potential harm and protect access to vital health care services in the communities we serve. Guided by the Mission, Providence’s Government Affairs teams continue to lead with persistence, collaboration and compassion. By maintaining a strong presence with our elected and appointed officials, Providence remains committed to protecting and expanding access to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.
