Xiaoyan Huang, M.D., named chief medical officer for Providence High Performing Network

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Xiaoyan Huang to the high performing network as the chief medical officer. 

In this role, Dr. Huang is responsible for oversight of the network's quality, utilization management and total cost of care for value-based contracts. The chief medical officer works with Providence Medical Group’s service-area clinicians and affiliated network clinicians to create action plans to meet the objectives of value-based contracts.   

Xiaoyan Huang, M.D., is a cardiologist and chief of clinical cardiology at Providence Heart Institute. She currently sits on the Providence Oregon Community Ministry Board and previously served as president of medical staff at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. 

Dr. Huang graduated from Yale College and Stanford Medical School and also holds a master’s degree in health care management from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Huang’s research focus has been around specialty care and payment reform, health policy and economics. She has published on these topics in the New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, Harvard Business Review, and New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst. Dr. Huang has also published on the broader topics of her personal journey as an immigrant in The Washington Post.
