Everyone at Providence knows this phrase by heart: “Know me, care for me, ease my way.” It’s more than just a promise —it’s a commitment. And for Harvey Ruiz, it’s a personal mantra. As a registered nurse on the neuro telemetry fall unit at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (PRMCE), Harvey has spent the past four years not just caring for patients but also guiding and supporting his fellow nurses.
“The people I work with are awesome,” commented Harvey. “I can't say enough about them. My floor feels like a family.”
Passionate about teaching his craft, he strives to create the same welcoming environment that once helped him find his footing.
Harvey is also growing at Providence, working on his BSN from the University of Providence, a flexible, tuition-assisted program designed for working nurses. He chose to continue his education with Providence because of the incredible support and opportunities it has provided him.
But his dedication to others doesn’t stop at work. Outside the hospital, Harvey carries this same spirit into his community, volunteering at his daughter and son’s school. For Harvey, being present in their lives means everything. It’s a gift he didn’t have growing up, and he’s determined to give them everything he can.
