Seattle Children's pediatric hospitalists will continue to care for patients

SOUTH PUGET SOUND -- After a thorough review, the Pediatric Inpatient Unit at Providence St. Peter Hospital will remain open and fully operational. Our leadership team thanks the pediatric and family medicine community for their feedback, which helps us keep our services aligned with local needs.

Our pediatric services are available 24/7, staffed by Seattle Children’s hospitalists. Please see our capabilities document for a comprehensive overview of the full scope of care provided. Thanks to our partnership with Seattle Children’s specialists, we deliver advanced care locally and facilitate seamless transfers when specialized treatment is needed.

Meet the Seattle Children’s hospitalist team

Hanna Abou Ouf, MD
Dr. Abou Ouf is a pediatric hospitalist with Seattle Children’s who practices full-time at Providence St. Peter Hospital, where she is committed to delivering compassionate, family-centered care to a diverse patient population.

Emily Antoon-Walsh, MD, MA
Dr. Antoon-Walsh is a pediatric hospitalist with Seattle Children’s who serves per diem at Providence St. Peter Hospital, with clinical interests including asthma, bronchiolitis, adolescent health, and advancing health equity.

Parimal Deodhar, MD
Dr. Deodhar completed medical school at Oregon Health and Science University and her pediatrics residency (serving as Chief Resident) at Yale New Haven Hospital; she currently practices primarily at Swedish Medical Center and also serves per diem at Providence St. Peter Hospital.

Kelly Fong, MD
Dr. Fong, a South Seattle native, earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency at UCLA Medical Center, where she later served on faculty before returning to the Pacific Northwest; she now practices full-time at Providence St. Peter Hospital, where she values the people she works with and enjoys caring for patients and families.

Joyce Gilbert, MD
Dr. Gilbert attended the University of Iowa for both medical school and pediatric training before spending 30 years in primary care in Idaho; she now serves as a Pediatric Hospitalist and Child Abuse Specialist at Providence St. Peter Hospital, where she is dedicated to caring for vulnerable children and supporting families through difficult times.

Jamie Murphy, MD
Dr. Murphy is a pediatric hospitalist with Seattle Children’s and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington who practices full-time at Providence St. Peter Hospital, with a focus on hospital medicine and strong partnerships with patients and families.

Josh Parlaman, MD
Dr. Parlaman earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his residency at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s; he is passionate about keeping care local for families and, outside of work, enjoys health and fitness as well as traveling.

Jennifer Tabakin, MD
Dr. Tabakin completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and trained at Seattle Children’s; she enjoys the full spectrum of pediatric care at Providence St. Peter Hospital and finds it especially meaningful to support children and families close to home.
