Exciting updates coming to Walk with a Doc this fall

August 4, 2026 Providence News Team

To better serve our community and enhance the experience for participants, the Walk with a Doc program will be introducing a few important changes this fall.

Beginning in September, our monthly walks will take place on the second Saturday of each month, rather than the fourth weekend. We are also relocating the program to Woodland Creek Community Park, a venue that offers several benefits for participants. This park provides improved parking access, benches along the walking route for those who may need a rest, and a quieter environment with fewer sports and recreational activities occuring nearby during the event.

To allow time for participants to become familiar with these changes, there will be no Walk with a Doc event in August.

Walk with a Doc is always looking for new providers to lead one of these walks by giving a short talk on the health topic of your choice. If you are interested in joining the program, email Rachel Ballou for more information.

Special thanks to the Providence Foundation for making this partnership with Walk with a Doc possible and helping support the health and wellness of our community.
