Meet the St. Peter pediatric team: Caring for children and supporting families

When a child needs hospital care, the pediatric nursing team at St. Peter Hospital is there to provide expert care, comfort and reassurance for both patients and their families. From newborns to teens, these nurses care for children at every stage of development while helping families navigate what can often be stressful and uncertain situations. 

Meet some of the dedicated nurses who make up our pediatric team.

Jessi Marie Abegglen
Jessi Marie Abegglen has worked at Providence St. Peter Hospital for nearly eight years, drawn to its Magnet designation, residency program and alignment with her nursing philosophy and community service goals. She enjoys caring for children from birth through age 18, using creativity and education to help young patients feel comfortable and parents feel confident. Before becoming a nurse, she spent nearly 18 years as a United Airlines flight attendant. She still loves travel, camping and kayaking, and describes the pediatric team as family, mentoring and passionate.

Lea Marie Caido 
Lea Marie Caido has worked at Providence Swedish for nearly five years, joining the pediatric unit for the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality care close to home. She uses patience and kindness to help children feel safe, build trust with families and ease anxiety throughout the healing process. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and baking Filipino food with her own twist. She describes the pediatric team as fun, resilient and compassionate.

Becca David
Becca David has worked at Providence St. Peter Hospital for nearly five years after returning to bedside care from Mary Bridge Urgent Care. She values the full range of pediatric development and works to minimize medical trauma by building trust with children and their parents. She finds it especially rewarding to help families gain the knowledge and confidence to care for their children at home. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures and learning watercolor painting. She describes the pediatric team as compassionate, fun and highly skilled.

Andrea Crittenden
Andrea Crittenden has worked at Providence Swedish for 24 years and recently joined Pediatrics as a fellow. Passionate about caring and advocating for children who need attentive, specialized care, she finds meaning in seeing fear ease as patients regain their comfort and strength. Outside of work, she is a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. She describes the pediatric team as compassionate, collaborative and steady.

Lori Eades
Lori Eades has worked at Providence Swedish for more than 18 years, including eight years in Centralia and 10 years in Olympia. She focuses on supporting the whole family, earning the trust of children and parents, and creating a safe, comforting environment during difficult medical moments. She especially values educating families and easing the stress and exhaustion parents may experience. Outside of work, she loves traveling and snorkeling. She describes the pediatric team as resilient, compassionate and specialized.

Sarah Hampton
Sarah Hampton joined Providence Swedish in February 2025 after relocating from Arkansas to Washington with her husband for the opportunity. She prioritizes building strong relationships with pediatric patients and their families so she can understand their needs and provide high-quality care. She finds it especially rewarding to offer comfort and safety during uncertain, frightening or painful moments. Outside of nursing, she enjoys hiking, camping and photography. She describes the pediatric team as dedicated, compassionate and integrous.

Teresa Miller
Teresa Miller has spent all 37 of her years in nursing caring for pediatric patients. She enjoys teaching families, learning about their dynamics and staying current with changes in care. Seeing children recover is the most rewarding part of her work. A proud mother who looks forward to becoming a grandmother, she describes the pediatric team as eager to learn, happy to be here and grateful for one another.
