I am happy to be in a position to finally look at donating back to the community that I have chosen. For many years that wasn't very feasible for me, as being the primary breadwinner of my large family didn't allow for much extra. I am now looking at ways that I can more regularly give back to this Foundation, which I trust will remain in the community helping not only my family, but all.
After moving every 2 to 3 years my entire life as part of a military family, I knew I was ready to have a long-term home. I moved to Southwest Washington 34 years ago right after my residency and established those roots for my own family. I moved here to join one of my two sisters, and over the years our other sister and mother also moved here.
This picture is me with my mother, my sister, and one of my granddaughters. (I have four daughters who have all chosen to stay in Olympia to raise their own families and I have 6 granddaughters with one on the way. I also have 2 grandsons as well, but clearly women dominate this family!)
I don't think that it will be a big surprise to anyone that when I gave a donation to the Providence Foundation it was directly for women's and children's services. It relates directly to my career, my life and my extended family.
