Changes in reappointment dates

September 3, 2025

We are updating our reappointment process with MD-Staff’s Virtual Committee (VCOMM), a secure portal for virtual review and approval of credentialing requests. This change won’t replace our regular committee meetings but adds benefits like batch approvals, more reviewer flexibility, and automatic tracking of metrics.

VCOMM will now automatically update approval dates, reappointment cycles, and release privileges, saving significant administrative time and reducing human error. Medical Staff Services (MSS) handles about 75 reappointments per month, and this update streamlines the process.

Reappointment dates will now align with the first day of the provider’s birth month, instead of their birth date, allowing MSS to batch update records efficiently. For example, a provider previously due for reappointment on 10/20/2025 will now be reappointed on 10/1/2027. System TeleHealth clinicians will be excluded from this change.

VCOMM is in effect at Providence St. Peter effective this month. VCOMM will go live at Providence Centralia quarter one of 2026. Realignment of reappointment dates to first of month is in effect at both facilities starting with this current, September, approval cycle.
