SOUTH PUGET SOUND – Dr. Park, who joined the team in March, brings extensive expertise in treating patients requiring procedural interventions for various neurological conditions, including stroke, subdural hematoma, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Collaborating with patient care teams at St. Peter Hospital, the stroke program plans to reintroduce mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke this spring, along with treatments for ruptured aneurysms and vascular malformations in the fall.
Dr. Park is currently seeing patients in the clinic and accepting outpatient referrals for a broad spectrum of conditions, such as intracranial aneurysms, intracranial arteriovenous malformations, ischemic stroke/TIA, hemorrhagic stroke, intracranial artery disease (including stenosis, dissection, and occlusion), subdural hematoma with consideration for middle meningeal artery embolization, and other vascular neurology indications.
The reintroduction of these critical emergent interventions at St. Peter Hospital will improve patient outcomes and allow patients to receive care closer to home. Initially, service coverage will have some blackout dates, with plans for additional recruitment and expanded coverage by 2026. Details regarding coverage and call dates will be provided soon.
