The Teen and Young Adult Pregnancy Clinic at St. Peter Family Medicine is dedicated to supporting patients who are pregnant and under 21 years old. Finding out about pregnancy can be an emotional experience, especially for teens and young adults. The clinic is here to help you support your patients and ensure no one faces the journey alone.
Created specifically for the under 21 age group, the clinic provides comprehensive maternity care with a personal touch, guiding patients through every step of pregnancy and beyond.
What your patient can expect:
- Confidential care: All information shared remains private. Involvement of family and friends is entirely up to the patient.
- Expert team: Patients meet with family medicine doctors, counselors, medical assistants, and nutritionists – all committed to listening and helping them make informed decisions.
- Support beyond medical care: The program offers opportunities to make new friends, learn about newborn care, and prepare for a healthy birth at Providence St. Peter Hospital.
The clinic operates every other Thursday from 2:15 to 4:30 p.m. by appointment. In addition to individual visits, group activities provide a teen- and young adult-centered atmosphere for learning about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and newborn care while connecting with peers.
After delivery, the clinic can continue serving as the family doctor for both parent and baby. Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, are accepted. Staff also assist patients in connecting with Maternity Support Services and the Nurse-Family Partnership of Washington when eligible.
To refer a patient, route a note to the St. Peter Family Medicine RN EPIC Pool using “PMG SW WA ST PETER FAM MED TRIAGE”, mentioning that you are seeking the Young Adult Pregnancy Clinic.
If you have any questions about the services provided, reach out to Hillary Brodin, Clinic Manager, or Dr. Yo Kondo, Medical Director of Operations.
