Celebrating achievement: Dr. Kooser and Dr. Cunningham Article Published in Medical Journal

Congratulations to Dr. Kenneth Kooser and Dr. Eve Cunningham on their contributions to the article “Scaling Remote Patient Care: The Mechanics of a Paradigm Shift in Chronic Disease Management,” published in the NEJM Catalyst journal. This is a significant accomplishment and a reflection of their hard work, expertise, and commitment to providing the best possible care to our communities. 

Their article explores the “unprecedented crisis of an increasingly aging population with high rates of chronic disease and a shrinking workforce of clinicians able to care for patients.” It goes on to explain how Providence’s remote patient care program is able to combine technology and guideline-directed medical therapy to improve access and quality of care for older patients as well as curbing health care-related costs and minimizing additional work for Providence clinicians. 

Publication in a peer-reviewed journal is a major milestone, and this achievement highlights the caliber of research and thought leadership within our organization. This is a reminder that Providence is constantly shaping conversations and driving progress in healthcare.
