New nutrition facts labels: What you should know

If you’re trying to boost your healthy eating efforts, reading the labels on everything you consume and monitoring fat, sodium, cholesterol, protein, and other nutrients is a good place to start. But it’s only effective if you understand what you’re reading. The newly designed Nutrition Facts Label is intended to make that a whole lot easier in the future.

Changes in the Nutrition Facts Label are set to go live at the start 2020 for major manufacturers and by 2021 for smaller or specialty manufacturers.

Here's what you need to know.
