A message from Facey Medical Group President Roscoe Marter, M.D.
This month we mark a very special milestone in Facey Medical Group’s history as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Dr. Frederick Facey’s practice in San Fernando, CA.
Dr. Facey’s small office quickly grew into a partnership of several local physicians who not only cared for their community but were also deeply connected to it. That group of doctors may have outgrown their original clinic on Brand Boulevard, but today we’re proud to continue their legacy and remain committed to the communities we serve through our ten clinics in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys.
During my own years with Facey Medical Group, I’ve had the privilege to hear stories from some of the patients of Drs. Facey, Sudlow and Seiter, as well as befriend many current and former Facey physicians. I learned our medical group was home to The Valley’s first board certified obstetrician. I’ve been inspired by my colleagues who have devoted time and energy to volunteering wherever an extra pair of doctor’s hands are needed. I’ve met patients whose mothers and grandmothers had their babies delivered by Facey doctors. It is humbling and inspiring to see how our roots in the community have grown so deeply.

So, as we celebrate being part of the community for 100 years, it only feels fitting to ask for your stories, too. You’re invited to explore our history and be part of a special compilation that we’ll be sharing with our entire team of clinicians and staff later to mark this milestone in our history. We’ll also provide anyone who submits their story with a digital copy of this look back at 100 years of extraordinary care.
On behalf of myself and my fellow physician leaders at Facey Medical Group, we thank everyone for teaching us as we’ve grown together. Thanks for your enthusiasm during moments of great joy, patience and strength during moments that have been challenging, and the continued support as we work together with Providence to provide world-class care. We literally could not have come this far without everyone.
I also hope you’ll join us in Mission Hills this October for a health fair we’re organizing together with Providence, the County of Los Angeles and other community partners. We’ll be sharing more details soon but yes, there will be cake. Until then, I wish you all the best in good health and look forward to many more years of fostering a healthy community, together.
