New faces & more at CORE!

It’s been a busy couple of months with several notable additions and changes to the CORE team. We’re excited to introduce our new team members and tell you about a new role for a familiar face at CORE.

CORE veteran Lisa Angus is stepping up as our new Program Director for CORE’s Analytics & Strategic Consulting (ASC) team! Lisa will provide strategic, operational, and project leadership for the ASC team while also supporting overall organizational leadership and strategy at CORE. She joined CORE in 2017 and has been a key part of our growing team, as well as a longtime contributor to health system transformation and health policy work in Oregon and as far away as Sydney, Australia. When Lisa isn’t at CORE, you’ll likely find her in her garden or plotting her next travel adventure.

Denise Baldwin is CORE’s new Operations Coordinator. Denise will help keep us moving forward, on track and on schedule by supporting a variety of administrative duties at CORE. For Denise, it’s all about making her coworkers' lives easier! Outside of work, you can usually find her focusing on her crafty passion for fiber art!

Lizzie Fussell is a Program Manager for our Analytics & Strategic Consulting team. Her 15 years of experience includes managing family support, community health worker, and home visiting programs through the Multnomah County Health Department, as well as extensive work with community-based organizations. Lizzie is a proud mother, auntie, and organizer. She loves to hike, climb, and kayak throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

Diana Govier joined CORE as a Research Analyst III. Past experience includes a Principal Investigator role on an AHRQ grant and her work as a postdoctoral fellow in health services research at the Veterans Health Administration. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pooch; crafting; reading; and jogging and recreational sports.

Katherine Marsi joined CORE in June as a Research Associate with the Research & Evaluation team. She brings wide-ranging experience from several sectors, including roles as a policy analyst, epidemiologist, and social worker. Kate has also worked as a grassroots community organizer in Tanzania and Botswana. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling and spending time outdoors. She is also a competitive rower and an active member of Station L Rowing Club in Portland.

Roxanne Marsillo joined CORE as a Research Associate with the Research & Evaluation team. Roxanne’s experience includes a variety of work with nonprofits and community-based organizations serving the Somali refugee community in the San Diego, California area. Roxanne spends her free time weight training, hiking, cooking, and creating recipes for her food blog.
