Face mask tip: How to keep your glasses from fogging up

If you wear glasses and are donning your face mask in public places, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), then you’ve probably experienced foggy lenses.

Not only is it annoying, but it requires taking your glasses off, which could result in touching your face with your hand. Yet, one way to help protect yourself from the coronavirus (COVID-19) is by not touching your face. It’s a conundrum, isn’t it?

We’ve got a tip that can help you resolve this problem, and all it takes is soap and water. Next time you’re preparing to leave the house, try this:

  1. Wash your glasses with soapy water
  2. Shake off the excess water
  3. Let the glasses air dry or gently dry the lenses with a soft tissue

How does it work? Soapy water leaves a thin film that causes the water molecules to spread out evenly into a transparent layer. This should solve the problem of foggy glasses and make wearing a face mask a more pleasant experience.

Please keep washing your hands, and stay safe. We'll get through this.
