Medical Executive Committee updates

Centralia

Effective May 25, 2023, the PCH Medical Executive Committee approved the following:

New criteria and policies:

• Arterial Line Insertion Criteria (special request privilege for internal medicine)
• Midline Catheter Insertion Criteria (special request privilege for internal medicine)
• Mentoring for Core Privileges (applicable to physicians)
• Mentoring for Special Requests (applicable to physicians)

Revisions to the following policies/privilege request forms:

• Application for Initial Appointment and Clinical Privileges
• Application for Reappointment – for medical staff members on staff at both Centralia and St. Peter’s, the policy has been revised to allow the MSO to accept St. Peter’s activity to meet the Centralia reappointment requirements if the member does not have activity at Centralia. 
• Expedited Credentials Review Policy – policy aligned to match St. Peter’s requirements including a requirement for a statement of need to justify expediting an application. 
• Reinstatement of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Privilege Request form

Increases to the initial appointment, reappointment and expedited initial appointment fees.  The increased fees will help to offset the increased fees the MSO incurring to obtain verifications, NPDB reports, background checks, etc.

• Initial Appointment – Routine processing is $200. 
• Reappointment Fees – Routine processing is $150.
• Expedited Initial Appointment – processing is now $1,000.

St. Peter:

Effective May 25, 2023, the South Puget Sound Community Mission Board approved the following:

New criteria or policies: 

• Tracking of Stark Non-Monetary Compensation Policy

Revisions to the following policies/privilege request forms:

• General Surgery Privilege Request Form – Moved all laparoscopic special requests to core privileges.
