Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers earn top CMS star ratings for quality and patient safety

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers have earned national recognition for excellence in quality and patient safety, highlighted in the latest Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services star ratings.

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance earned a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for both the hospital and the Transitional Care Center. The 5-star rating is the highest designation awarded by CMS and places the hospital among the highest performing in the nation and in the top 12 percent for safety and quality of care.

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro also earned a 4-star rating for both the medical center and the Subacute Care Center, reflecting strong performance across the same rigorous quality and safety measures.

The CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating evaluates hospitals using a comprehensive set of performance measures, including patient outcomes, safety metrics, readmissions, timeliness of care and patient experience. These measures are based on publicly reported data and are designed to help patients make informed decisions about their care.
