Providence Holy Cross Medical Center announced today that it has earned top honors for clinical quality from Healthgrades. Among its 2027 honors, Providence Holy Cross was named one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care, Coronary Intervention, Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Care, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Critical Care. The medical center was also named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for Emergency Hospitalization.
Four of the medical center’s America’s Best Hospitals distinctions are new for 2027, including honors for Coronary Intervention, Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Emergency Hospitalization.
Providence Holy Cross also received 12 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards spanning cardiac care, neurosciences, gastrointestinal care, critical care, surgical care and emergency medicine. The medical center also earned 10 Five-Star Ratings for clinical quality and patient outcomes across cardiac, neurosciences, gastrointestinal and critical care.
“We are honored to be recognized once again by Healthgrades for the exceptional care our teams provide every day,” said Bernie Klein, M.D., chief executive of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. “These achievements reflect our commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and advancing clinical excellence across the specialty services our community depends on most. Most importantly, they represent better outcomes and healthier futures for the patients and families we serve.”
In addition to these national honors, the Mission Hills hospital achieved several notable statewide rankings. The medical center ranked No. 2 in California for gastrointestinal care and critical care, No. 4 for gastrointestinal surgery and No. 5 for stroke care and emergency hospitalization. These rankings place Providence Holy Cross among California's top-performing hospitals for specialty care and underscore its commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
These achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. Unlike rankings based on surveys or reputation, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance using objective measures, including risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates, across more than 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.
