Being a provider or other member of the care team requires years of training, sometimes long hours, and emotional conversations with patients and their families. It’s important to remember how much our patients rely on us and the compassionate care we provide. We publish a regular feature in Pulse – notes we’ve received from grateful patients to their doctors, nurses and care teams.
Here are just a few of the many notes of gratitude Providence in Oregon has received recently from patients about the care they’ve received:
Providence St. Vincent – Emergency Department
“Dr. Nicolas C. Stadlberger was extremely caring and professional and explained very thoroughly and called our home the next day to follow-up re: my progress.”
Providence Occupational Medicine – Clackamas
“Meeting Dr. Jesse Powell left a lasting impression on me. He listened well, had an honest, open manner that immediately helped build rapport, was an empathetic listener and offered sound recommendations. I felt he had a good understanding of my predicament and had my best interests in mind for building a return to work plan without neglecting self-care.”
Providence Medford – Emergency Department
“Dr. Brian Bonner is tremendously talented, kind, and was so caring and helpful in diagnosing my problem and advising me.”
Providence Portland – Ambulatory Surgery
“Dr. Katherine Ching is a wonderful doctor and I appreciate how well she explained the procedure. Also Dr. Carra was EXCELLENT! He made me feel at ease!”
Providence Seaside Hospital
“Dr. Kyle Walker was excellent, nice, kind - just all around a nice person! I would almost go as far as to say I look forward to seeing him again, but only if I need to. Thank you to Dr. Walker and everyone at Seaside Hospital.”
Providence Medical Group – Dermatologic Surgery Glisan
“Fantastic experience at every level. Dr. Erin Allen is a wonderful practitioner who really knows her stuff. Her intelligent, delicate approach and the speed at which you get results are unmatched. And every staff member is super nice.”

Patient comments come from several sources – patient surveys, notes or emails sent to hospital or clinic administrators, or comments sent to Providence’s Patient Experience program. If you or your care team receives a note of gratitude and want to share it, please email it to: jabin.kahl@providence.org. Providence employed or affiliated care teams are welcome to submit grateful patient notes. We do not use patient names.
