Please see this important update about refilling your prescriptions from a Providence hospital, clinic or physician.
Providence has resumed normal operations following a nationwide pharmacy service disruption caused by a cyberattack on Change Healthcare – a technology company that processes most prescriptions in the U.S. Following established workflows, Providence providers are now electronically prescribing medications through EPIC, the organization’s electronical health record (EHR) system, and are no longer writing paper scripts.
Dispensing and retail pharmacies who use Change Healthcare for claims processing have mostly resumed normal operations. Some insurance billing interfaces remain impaired, and Providence pharmacies are continuing to utilize downtime procedures to provide safe and timely access to medications for those affected patients.
Despite these disruptions, Providence’s Credena Health pharmacies, and other retail pharmacies within the Providence family of organizations, remain steadfast in our Mission to serve all and to ensure our patients receive the care they need.
Accessing Medical Care
Providence’s hospitals, outpatient clinics and medical offices remain fully open and operational to provide essential care and address your medical needs.
Patients can visit a Providence facility at any time and can continue to schedule appointments, view test results and connect with their doctor through the MyChart online portal.
Filling a Prescription
Managing prescriptions and ensuring continuity of care is crucial for many of our patients. Providence has resumed normal operations and is electronically prescribing medications for all patients to their pharmacy of choice.
As some insurance billing interfaces remain impaired, Providence pharmacies are continuing to utilize downtime procedures to provide safe and timely access to medications for those affected patients.
We understand that accessing your necessary prescriptions is of utmost importance, and we are here to provide the support you need.
