Providence is helping shape the future of medicine through unique career opportunity days with local students. This is one of the ways we’re working to address the urgent health care worker shortage happening across the nation
In late September, students ranging from middle school to college, along with many of their parents, visited the Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center operating room for an open house. This was hosted in partnership with Greater Spokane Incorporated's Business AfterSchool Program.
Eighty seven students participated in the tour and hands-on activities, including putting their skills to the test on the Davinci surgical robot. This is a good way to inspire them to choose careers in health care.
