$200,000 in grants awarded to programs focused
on health, wellness of the community
SEWARD, Alaska – Providence Health & Services Alaska’s Region Executive Council and Providence Seward Medical & Care Center’s Health Advisory Council (HAC) has awarded $200,000 in grants to six local organizations that provide support the health and wellness of the Seward community.
“We recognize the tremendous impact that community partnerships have on community wellness,” said Robert Rang, administrator, Providence Seward. “We are grateful that these community partnerships join with Providence Seward Medical & Care Center in the critical roles to meet the needs of our community.”
Here is a list of organizations and grant amounts:
- Seward Prevention Coalition — Homeless Connection $10,000
- Seward Community Health Center $45,000
- Seward Area Hospice $31,610
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Kenai Peninsula $46,937
- SeaView Community Services $46,453
- Seward Prevention Coalition — Teacher Aides $20,000
The grants are awarded as part of Providence Alaska Foundation’s annual community partnership funding, which provides funds to local service and not-for-profit organizations seeking to address identified community needs in the Seward area.
Funding is provided to projects benefiting community health and wellness, with special consideration for proposals demonstrating partnerships and collaboration across organizations and that align with the Providence Mission, core values and commitment to create healthier communities, together.
The HAC is composed of members of the Seward community who advise Providence Seward Medical & Care Center’s administration on operating and strategic initiatives.
