How patients access and feel comfortable in health care settings is becoming even more complex. It’s one reason why it’s so important for health care organizations to provide an outstanding experience for patients.
That’s why Providence is proud to support Patient Experience (PX) Week. This celebration, first held in 2014, is promoted by the Beryl Institute, an organization committed to elevating the human experience in health care. PX Week is observed annually starting with the final Monday in April and focuses on celebrating health care staff who positively impact the patient experience every day.
Why recognize Patient Experience Week?
Our caregivers are committed to supporting a seamless patient experience year-round, including demonstrating appreciation for the employees who work hard on behalf of our patients.
PX week brings the opportunity to celebrate the work happening to enhance all aspects of the patient experience, such as reducing wait times, improving the scheduling process and providing clear and helpful communication to patients and families.
“Our patients are at the center of all we do,” says Brooke Horn, Executive Director, Enterprise Patient Experience at Providence. “By providing them with an outstanding experience, and empowering all caregivers to do the same, we are working to fulfill the Providence Mission.”
Patient Experience Week is an opportunity to highlight the caregivers who impact even our littlest patients and their families every day. Learn how patient experience comes to life at Covenant Children’s Hospital.
How Providence is celebrating Patient Experience Week
According to the Beryl Institute, “PX Week provides a focused time for organizations to celebrate accomplishments, re-energize efforts and honor the people who impact patient experience every day.”
In line with the Providence Mission, our caregivers are committed to providing a superior patient experience. That means clinicians, patients, families and the community can collaborate to make sure patients have the best outcomes and feel confident in their care.
“Providing this high level of experience in collaboration with patients is critical to being a caregiver at Providence,” says Brooke Horne. “We’re proud of the team members who internalize that role to make patients’ lives better.”
