Camino Health Center Auxiliary Golf Tournament Raised Nearly $37,000 to Support the Underserved

April 29, 2016

The Camino Health Center Auxiliary is a support group affiliated with Mission Hospital dedicated to promoting and raising funds for Camino Health Center.

San Juan Capistrano, CA – The Camino Health Center Auxiliary hosted their fifth annual Golf Tournament at San Juan Hills Golf Club and raised nearly $37,000 to support the new Camino Health Center in Lake Forest. Over the past 30 years, the auxiliary has raised more than $6 million in support of Camino Health Center.

According to tournament chairs, Marilyn Weber and Susan Hoffnagle, one of the unique things about this 9-hole tournament is that even non-golfers are invited to participate. Several years ago the auxiliary wanted to provide people who don’t play golf with a way to become involved, so they introduced a croquet contest. This year 53 people golfed and 15 played croquet.

The top golf foursome in the tournament was Lynn Maioriello, Donna Sabatasso, Sheri Worth and Cassie Speace and the first place in croquet went to Barbara Gray.

The proceeds from the tournament will support all three of Camino Health Center locations – San Juan Capistrano, Lake Forest and San Clemente. Camino Health Center is a federally qualified health center providing comprehensive medical care, pediatric dental care, and mental health and wellness services.
