Providence Regional Medical Center Everett Earns Four-star Overall Hospital Quality Rating from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
EVERETT, Wash. — May 18, 2026 — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (PRMCE) a Four-star Overall Hospital Quality Rating for 2026, as part of its national release of hospital star ratings. This is a tremendous accomplishment as the hospital jumped from a two-star rating to a four-star within the course of one year.
CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings provide patients and families with an easy-to-understand summary of how hospitals perform across key areas, including quality, safety, patient experience and outcomes, using publicly reported and standardized measures.
Key to achieving the four-star rating were PRMCE’s improvements in decreasing hospital- acquired infections, such as catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), and fewer readmissions.
“This recognition marks a significant achievement on PRMCE’s journey toward a CMS Five-Star rating,” said Kristy Carrington, chief executive of Providence Swedish North Puget Sound. “It reflects the dedication and teamwork of our caregivers and physicians who show up every day focused on quality, compassionate care for our patients and the community.”
Hospitals receive CMS star ratings based on performance across multiple measure groups and must meet eligibility criteria to receive an overall rating. A four-star rating represents strong, consistent performance using CMS’s nationally recognized methodology.
PRMCE is a full‑service, not‑for‑profit hospital providing comprehensive medical services to Snohomish County and the surrounding region. The hospital remains focused on advancing quality, safety and patient experience while living Providence’s Mission to serve all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
