After taking on progressively more responsibility as Office Assistant at Providence Elizabeth House and Providence Gamelin House both in Seattle, Thuy Nguyen has been promoted to the position of Assistant Director, South Seattle. Nguyen has been employed with the Providence Supportive Housing Ministry since July 2007.
The South Seattle designation is a new one for the Supportive Housing Ministry. It reflects a department reorganization that resulted in our two South Seattle properties, Providence Gamelin House and Providence Peter Claver House, being managed by a combined management team led by Ba Cam Ma, Housing Director, South Seattle. The reorganization capitalizes on the strengths and talents of the new South Seattle management team and has also created opportunities for professional growth and development for team members seeking added responsibility.
“Thuy is a proven and effective employee as well as having demonstrated a deep commitment to our Mission and Core Values,” noted Tim Zaricznyj, Director of Housing for Providence. Nguyen added, “It is my privilege to serve, support and just be present here at the front line for my residents each day. I believe in our Mission and our goal to assist our seniors to age in place, to live independently to the fullest within the comfort of their own home, and their own community with our supportive services.”
Providence Gamelin House and Providence Peter Claver House are two of 14 Providence Supportive Housing programs located in Washington, Oregon and California. Each house offers independent living in an apartment setting along with services coordination for the residents. The seniors on fixed incomes and disabled adults who call these ministries home enjoy a sense of well-being, independence and more fulfilling lives as a result of living in a safe and affordable apartment and welcoming community.
