Weight management is about more than diet and exercise. Providence's Center for Weight Management brings together experts who help patients navigate the many factors that can influence their health, including metabolism, hormones, sleep and emotional well-being.
Because every health journey is unique, the program creates individualized plans tailored to each person's goals and medical needs.
“Because obesity is a complex medical condition, disease condition, it's multifactorial. So there can be metabolic hormonal genetic factors. And so you need a team of experts to help you navigate that landscape,” says Chris Collins, a registered dietitian at Providence Center for Weight Management.
Support beyond the scale
Chris helped patient Lori Burien develop a plan that supported her goal of staying active as a Scout leader while managing arthritis. Through nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching and coordinated care, Lori achieved meaningful progress.
“You need the nutrition, you need the physical activity, you need the social support to be able to make these changes long term and be long term successful,” Chris says.
