Grateful patients thank providers, care teams - Aug. 2020

Being a provider or other member of the care team requires years of training, sometimes long hours, and emotional conversations with patients and their families. It’s important to remember how much our patients rely on us and the compassionate care we provide. We publish a regular feature in Pulse – notes we’ve received from grateful patients to their doctors, nurses and care teams.

Here are just a few of the many notes of gratitude Providence in Oregon has received recently from patients about the care they’ve received:

Canby Immediate Care
“Kery White (physician assistant) has excellent patient-oriented manners. Displayed exceptional ability to listen and explain and provide "best practices" advice. I will be checking to see if he also sees patients through a Providence health clinic in Canby or by virtual visits. Providence Immediate Care in Canby is very fortunate to have Mr. White.”

Providence St. Vincent Cardiology
“I especially liked Dr. Luis Leyton-Gonzalez. He took plenty of time to explain the background of my condition. Also thanks to Dr. Scott Garvey, who installed my new ICB. My heart feels stronger and is able to keep up with my daily activities much better than it did for the previous 7 years.”

Providence Medical Group-North Portland Family Medicine Clinic
"Dr. Crystal Query asks questions, listens, and explains everything in a manner that makes me feel confident I am receiving excellent medical care, and every person I encountered in the office provided an excellent experience. Their setup for safety around COVID-19 is commendable. Special thanks to Gina for consistently providing pain-free blood draws because I hate needles."

Providence Portland Medical Center - surgery
"My neurosurgeon, Dr. Martin Baggenstos could not be more skilled or kind and considerate. When I had a reaction to the anesthetic post op, he and a wonderful nurse, whose name I cannot remember but whose skill and kindness I will never forget, stayed with me until the reaction subsided. Both are extraordinary professionals."

Providence Milwaukie Hospital
"Dr. Corrin Ginnow is wonderful – you’re very lucky to have her on staff. Been hospitalized several times at PMH, and she was the best doctor yet."

Patient comments come from several sources – patient surveys, notes or emails sent to hospital or clinic administrators, or comments sent to Providence’s Patient Experience program. If you or your care team receives a note of gratitude and want to share it, please email it to: jabin.kahl@providence.org. Providence employed or affiliated care teams are welcome to submit grateful patient notes. We do not use patient names.
