New clinic offers a broad range of services
Providence Women’s Health Clinic at Mill Creek Commons has assembled a highly skilled team of clinicians and support staff who share a vision for the type of care they want to provide. At its core, their approach offers evidence-based treatments and state-of-the-art technology, provided with warm and empathetic relationships, clear communication, and care and attention for all aspects of a woman’s health and wellbeing.
On-site care designed for women
OB/GYN services
Gynecologic care spans a woman’s lifetime beginning in her teen to post-menopausal years. The clinic’s staff believe that taking care of the whole woman is fundamental. By providing the highest-quality, most up-to-date and comprehensive OB/GYN care, the staff is experienced with a variety of birthing options. They also evaluate and treat a variety of gynecologic issues ranging from routine gynecologic screening to the most complex gynecologic disorders.
Midwifery services
The clinic’s team of certified nurse midwives (CNMs) provides personalized wellness care for women, as well as maternity care throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Midwives are expert at providing patient-centered, evidence-based care in a way that empowers women and minimizes unnecessary interventions.
Pelvic floor services
Shannon Pazier, a physical therapist at the clinic, has specialized experience in treating pelvic pain and conditions. She says that pelvic pain treatment can be “slow going” and may take from three to 24 months to resolve, which can be frustrating. “A solid personal connection helps,” she says, as she and the patient get through it together.
Shannon says she and her colleagues routinely treat pelvic pain due to vaginismus, coccydynia, proctalgia fugax, genital conditions, vulvodynia and pudendal neuralgia. They also frequently work with patients who seek help for urgency or frequency of urination and fecal incontinence.
Integrated behavioral health services
The clinic offers individual and group support for patients who are experiencing instability in their mental well-being. Group offerings include Beat the Blues for patients who have significant risk but no diagnosis for perinatal mood disorders, and the Perinatal Mood Disorders group for patients experiencing anxiety and depression anytime in their pregnancy or postpartum.
Individual counseling is available for women who are not in their child-bearing years, who are not comfortable in a group setting, or are struggling with trauma and grief from a birth experience or loss.
The clinic offers holistic, personalized care for women of all ages. The goal is to care for, advocate for and support women and to help each individual who comes to the clinic whatever her specific needs may be.
