New bariatric webinar walks patients through the process of their weight loss journey

Author: Daniel Davila Bradley, M.D., medical director, Providence Center for Weight Management

For consumers trying to decide if they’re ready or eligible for bariatric surgery as part of their weight loss journey, knowledge is power. This is not a decision to make lightly, and we understand that people often have questions about bariatric surgery and its potential impacts.

Providence Center for Weight Management has developed a new five-part webinar that addresses many of the most common topics and questions. The webinar covers what to expect from weight loss surgery, who is a candidate and how Providence can support patients on their journey to better health. The new webinar is organized in chapters, is easily digestible and is professionally narrated.

Webinar topics
Consumers fill out a brief form to request access to the webinar. This allows the team to follow up with additional emails to see if people have questions or need additional information.

The webinar covers topics such as:

  • Obesity and weight loss options: Reasons to consider weight loss surgery
  • Bariatric surgery: Common types of surgery, risks and benefits
  • Patient pathway: Preparing for bariatric surgery
  • What to expect: Surgery procedure and recovery process
  • Life after surgery: Building a supportive network

Once consumers watch the free webinar, they can call the program and financial counselors will check their insurance coverage for free. Some programs do not offer this service.
