Increasing access to healthcare for all, improving delivery through our caregiver team and solving challenges through the most advanced technologies are the focus of the Providence Digital Innovation Group — and it shows in their results.
Now in its seventh year, the group has implemented dozens of programs, with more to come. The Digital Innovation Group is working tirelessly to create resources that ease our patients’ way and improve how and when we offer health care. Within our Resource Center, you can find out about the latest and greatest advances and technology breakthroughs from Providence that are making a difference in the health of the communities we serve.
We’ve put together a series that summarizes recent project spotlights and gives you a brief peek at the groundbreaking work we’re doing. This month we’ll take a look at transforming the patient care journey.
DexCare
DexCare is an Access Optimization Platform that allows you to easily access healthcare, make appointments and receive follow-up care based on your health needs, preferences, location and schedule. It is invisible to you as the patient, but the technology is working behind the scenes as you manage your healthcare journey through online tools. DexCare recently became the third spin-off company incubated by the Digital Innovation Group. Providence is using DexCare to improve the patient experience and optimize clinical resources in a seamless way.
Surgical Concierge
Surgical Concierge is a pilot program at Providence that uses virtual and digital channels to guide patients across their surgical journey. The project uses digital tools such as Zoom for virtual visits and Twistle to direct patients through pre and post-op procedures more easily. Pilot programs began earlier this year at several Providence hospitals and initial results are expected soon.
Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CCBT)
Less than 10% of patients with depression receive the mental health care they need due to insufficient resources and lack of access to the limited services that do exist. Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CCBT) takes a treatment that’s traditionally done in-person and uses digital tools to let you engage with a mental health professional online and on-demand. Phase 1 of the pilot program showed promising results.
