Entry into Our Facilities
Visitors will be screened at the main entrances prior to entering. Anyone who exhibits cold or flu-like symptoms or has a fever will be asked to return home.
Visitor Restrictions
Kadlec understands the importance and value of patients having access to their loved ones while receiving care in the hospital and clinics.
ED and Free-Standing ED
COVID negative patients:
- Adults: 1 consistent care partner for each patient. Care partner may be asked to wait outside of the facility if social distancing cannot be maintained in the waiting area and the patient is safe to wait alone.
- Minors: 2 consistent care partners, where one must be the patient’s medical decision maker.
COVID positive patients:
- Adults: 1 consistent care partner for each patient. Care partner may be asked to wait outside of the facility if social distancing cannot be maintained in the waiting area and the patient is safe to wait alone.
- Minors: Up to 2 essential care partners, where one must be the patient’s medical decision maker.
Birth Center
COVID negative patients:
- Triage: 1 care partner may accompany patient into the facility and remain in triage.
- Labor and Delivery/Post-Partum: 2 consistent care partners once admitted into a labor suite, during active labor, and within visitor hours each day after delivery. Only 1 care partner is permitted to stay overnight.
COVID positive patients:
- 1 essential care partner will be allowed throughout their stay. This 1 care partner is permitted to stay overnight.
NICU and Pediatrics
COVID negative patients:
- 2 consistent care partners are allowed through their stay, where one must be the patient’s medical decision maker.
- Up to 2 additional care partners, who remain constant throughout a patient’s stay, may visit a patient per day resulting in a total of 4 care partners per day.
- No minor child will be considered a care partner, unless the minor is the mother or father of the patient.
COVID positive patients:
- Patient may have their parent and one other essential care partner.
- No minor child will be considered a care partner, unless the minor is the mother or father of the patient.
Hospitalized Inpatients
COVID negative patients:
- 2 care partners may visit at one time.
- Up to 4 care partners may visit a patient per day and may vary day by day.
COVID positive patients:
- 1 essential care partner will be allowed throughout their stay.
Surgical Patients
COVID negative patients:
- 1 care partner may attend a patient as they are prepped for a procedure and return when the patient is sufficiently recovered so staff may provide discharge instructions in-person to the care partner.
COVID positive patients:
- 1 essential care partner.
Kadlec Clinic, Kadlec Healthplex and Kadlec Outpatient Imaging
COVID negative patients:
- 2 care partners may attend the visit with the patient. Care partner may be asked to wait outside of the facility if social distancing cannot be maintained in the waiting area and the patient is safe to wait alone.
- Post-partum mothers may bring their infant with them to their post-partum appointment in addition to 1 care partner.
- 1 minor child below the age of 11 may be allowed to accompany up to two adults when a sibling is receiving care. The child must remain with a parent at all times.
COVID positive patients:
- 1 essential care partner may attend the visit with the patient. Patients are encouraged to come alone if possible.
Community Clergy and Designated Spiritual Care Visitors
COVID negative patients:
- 1 individual is permitted to visit for a maximum of 30 minutes every day. This individual will be included in the count for each patient whereby 4 total care partners are allowed.
COVID positive patients:
- No visitation permitted.
This guidance cannot anticipate every situation. Medical staff may make exceptions based on the unique situation of a patient, being mindful of the safety and well-being of all involved.
