Daniel J. Fish, PhD, a data scientist with the Providence Center for Outcomes, Research, and Education (CORE) in Portland, Oregon, has been selected to serve as a measurement expert on the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Metrics and Scoring Committee.
Dan will use his extensive metric and measurement expertise to help the nine-member committee select quality measures and benchmarks for Oregon's Quality Incentive Program (QIP). The QIP rewards the state’s Medicaid coordinated care organizations (CCOs) when they provide exceptional care for Oregon Health Plan members. Measuring quality and access to care, and holding CCOs accountable to key metrics, is a cornerstone of Oregon’s health system transformation.
We are thrilled to see Dan’s tremendous expertise recognized through his appointment to the OHA Metrics & Scoring Committee,” said Keri Vartanian, director of CORE. “He’s sure to be a fantastic asset to the committee as it works to shape effective quality incentives for Oregon’s CCOs.
The Metrics and Scoring Committee is a public committee established in 2012 by Senate Bill 1580. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to participate.
