End of Life Decisions and Eastern Religious Perspectives: Exploring Buddhism, Confucianism, & Taoism

Presenter: Daniel Fu-Chang Tsai, M.D., PhD Recorded: April 30, 2019 Series: Goldman-Berland Lectureship in Palliative Medicine Dr. Tsai will explore common Eastern religious perspectives on end-of-life decision-making, examine basic relevant ethical implications on frequent end-of-life issues such as the meaning of death, pain, and suffering, individual autonomy, and organ donation. Through an understanding of how these perspectives and insights can influence medical decision-making, caregivers will acquire useful communication strategies to promote patient-centered care.
