When the Details Are All That Matter

July 6, 2023 Providence News Team

Providence St. Jude was the first hospital in Orange County to offer PET/CT technology, allowing our physicians to precisely overlay the metabolic and cellular information offered by a PET scan with the detailed anatomic data of a CT—giving us the ability to identify cancer and disease more accurately than ever before.

Thanks to a generous community, each new generation of this technology continues to call St. Jude home: most recently, the GE Discovery MI Gen 2. This breakthrough technology dramatically increases resolution— improving our ability to detect very small lesions by over 40%—while lowering exposure to radiation, advancing treatment planning and allowing our physicians to pursue next-generation clinical applications.
