Named One of the Best Places in America to Have a Baby

June 28, 2023 Providence News Team

We’re national leaders in keeping moms and babies safe, which is why we continue to earn the country’s top honors for quality: from being recognized as a Best Hospital for Maternity by U.S. News & World Report to earning the coveted Baby Friendly Designation for best practices in newborn care.

But outstanding outcomes and a list of awards aren’t all we offer. From Pelvic Floor Pilates classes and a Fetal Diagnostic Center that expertly manages high-risk births to one-on-one breastfeeding support and a state-of-the-art Level III NICU that creates some of the state’s best outcomes, we have a unique and comprehensive range of services for new moms and babies.

Check out how we offer families the best possible start—at stjudemedicalcenter/maternity and click on Resources and Classes.

  • Breastfeeding Basics (a virtual class for expectant moms and dads)
  • Prepared Childbirth Series (for expectant moms and dads, best started the 7th month)
  • Newborn Baby Care (a virtual class for expectant and new parents)
  • Breastfeeding Workshop (hands on practice for new moms and infants)
  • Infant Safety & CPR (for new parents, grandparents and babysitters)

A concierge: making one of life’s best moments even better

We are also one of only a handful of hospitals in the nation to offer a maternity concierge to reduce the stress (and increase the joy) of a new baby.

This complimentary service is designed to take care of whatever is on your to-do list, so you can focus on more important things. Whether it’s delivering food from your favorite restaurant, making a Target run for forgotten items or finding someone to walk the dog while you’re in the hospital, our concierge is here to make life easier for new moms and dads.

This service is free, with no mileage fee or surcharge. Your credit card is only charged for the actual cost of whatever goods or services you want our concierge to purchase. Need the concierge to deliver Starbucks and pick up a present for a sibling? You’ll only be charged for the drinks and gifts. Our concierge’s time (and expertise at making moms happy) is always free.

To find out more about our concierge program, please call 714-992-3000 ext. 4881.
