Welcome to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. Quiet hours in the hospital extend from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily. We encourage visitation outside of these hours to ensure a peaceful experience for our patients. Face masks are required for all visitors entering the hospital. If you need a mask, we will be happy to provide one.
State Mandate
We understand the importance of our patients’ need for quality time with their loved ones while receiving care at Providence St. Mary. In accordance with a state order, all visitors must show proof of their vaccine and booster status before entering the hospital. Visitors who have not received a COVID-19 booster may show proof of a negative PCR test within two days of their visit or a negative antigen test within 24 hours of their visit.
Exceptions to the state Mandate
Visitors who fall into the following categories are exempt from vaccine/testing requirements, but who must comply with all infection prevention measures (including masking and social distancing), include:
- Those visiting a patient in critical condition when death may be imminent
- In emergent situations, those who are the parent(s) or guardian(s) of pediatric patients; support persons for Labor and Delivery patients; and support persons for patients with a cognitive impairment, or a physical, intellectual or developmental disability. For subsequent visits following the emergent situation, and as soon as reasonably possible, these visitors must comply with the vaccine verification or applicable testing requirements.
Additional Visitor Guidelines
- One person my visit a patient at a time.
- Two visitors from the same household may visit a patient at the same time, provided that social distancing can be achieved and visitors comply with Providence St. Mary’s visitation guidelines.
- For Labor and Delivery patients, a doula may also be present in addition to two visitors from the same household. Labor and Delivery patients must make prior arrangements with the hospital, and the doula must comply with the hospital’s PPE and infection prevention guidelines.
- In the NICU, we discourage visitors from 5 to 7 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. We are currently limiting visitation to one parent or guardian at the patient’s bedside in the NICU.
- Every visitor will be screened for fever and COVID-19 symptoms. At all times, visitors must wear a face mask while inside the hospital, maintain social distance and wear other PPE as directed by the clinical team while in the patient’s room.
- Visitors are highly encouraged to wash their hands frequently and limit their interactions with others while inside the hospital.
- Food, flowers and patient belongings are allowed to be brought inside the hospital, except for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Visitors are not allowed for patients with, or suspected of having, COVID-19. In certain circumstances, visitors will be allowed on a compassionate exception.
