Six Portland Timbers players and Timber Joey barreled into town this week for our annual Rose City Road Trip.

Hosted at Providence Portland Medical Center, the Timbers surprised caregivers and patients on floors 8S and 4K. Players Brandon Bye, Cole Bassett, Erin Miller, James Pantemis, Jose Caicedo and Zac McGraw and Timbers staff handed out hats and scarves, posed for photos and signed autographs.

The Timbers then headed to Da Vinci Arts Middle School, where they hosted a community meet-and-greet and a free youth soccer clinic for children between 8-13. The event drew more than 70 families.

“Helping children and families live healthier lives is at the heart of our Mission,” says Sherri Kulink, chief executive of Providence Portland Medical Center.

“We’re excited to partner with the Timbers to give kids a fun opportunity to stay active, learn new skills and make great memories.”
