If you’re trying to boost your healthy eating efforts while homebound due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a simple way to start is by reading the labels on everything you consume, and monitoring fat, sodium, cholesterol, protein and other nutrients. But it’s only effective if you understand what you’re reading. The newly designed Nutrition Facts Label is intended to make that a whole lot easier in the future.
Changes in the Nutrition Facts Label went live this year for major manufacturers, and will be live by 2021 for smaller or specialty manufacturers.
Here's what you need to know.
Find a doctor
It’s no secret that healthy eating is one of the key building blocks of a healthy lifestyle. But knowing how to put that knowledge into practice can sometimes be a mystery. The experts at Providence can guide you through the fundamentals of adopting a healthy diet and give you the tools you need to make a lasting difference in your health.
If you feel unwell and would like to consult your doctor, consider using telemedicine options. Providence Express Care Virtual connects you face-to-face with a nurse practitioner who can review your symptoms, provide instruction and follow-up as needed. If you need to find a doctor, you can use our provider directory to search for one in your area.
