Findhelp: A new way to get support in your community

When life throws you a curveball, we’re here to help.

At Providence, we believe caring for your health means so much more than treating illness. Good health also means a cabinet filled with food you can use to cook dinner, reliable childcare, help with bills when needed and mental health support.

That’s why we’re working with Findhelp, a free online tool that’s easy to use and can help you quickly find support in your community.

“Findhelp is a free, easy-to-use online tool that connects you to services in your community,” says Arooj Simmonds, North Division chief medical officer at Providence. “You can search for free or reduced-cost resources such as healthcare services, food and nutrition support, transportation, financial assistance and much more.”

It takes a village

Maybe an unexpected expense has left no money for next month’s heating bill. Or your child needs educational support that their school can’t provide. Perhaps your car broke down, and every day you face the stress of relying on others to drive you to work.

Countless community resources and organizations exist to help you or someone you care about when life feels hard and heavy. Findhelp makes it easy to find the specific support you need in your neighborhood.

Findhelp can connect you to:

  • Food and groceries
  • Help with rent or bills
  • Job training and work support
  • Medical and mental health care
  • Transportation
  • Legal aid
  • Childcare and educational support
  • Government benefits
  • Insurance
  • Education services and assistance

“Your needs may change over time,” adds Simmonds. “With Findhelp, you can return anytime to search for new resources that match your evolving circumstances, without needing a referral or appointment.”

How to use Findhelp

It’s easy to learn about free and low-cost resources close to where you live. Simply:

  • Enter your zip code
  • Choose a category, such as food, housing, transit or legal
  • Read through a list of local options

“You can use Findhelp privately and at your own pace," Simmonds says. "Whether you're looking for help with rent, food, or transportation, the tool is always available to guide you to trusted local support.”
