Providence welcomes inquiries from not-for-profit organizations interested in partnering to improve the health and well-being of communities
RENTON, Wash., April 12, 2022 – Providence, one of the largest health systems in the nation, today announced the launch of a digital hub showcasing inspiring stories of partnership and volunteerism. The health system partners with more than 500 organizations in seven states and five countries as part of its vision to achieve health for a better world.
“Improving the health of communities, especially for those who are most vulnerable, is at the heart of our mission. But it’s something we can’t do alone. That’s why, for generations, Providence has worked alongside our local partners and others of goodwill to support and invest in programs that will have lasting impact into the future,” said Rod Hochman, M.D. president and CEO of Providence.
At a time when the world is inundated with negative news, the new digital hub seeks to share positive stories about how Providence caregivers and partner organizations are working together to make a difference in the lives of others.
One story, “Intentional Acts of Kindness,” highlights the many ways Providence caregivers support their communities through volunteerism, from sharing messages of hope to those who are isolated to building homes for those in need. Other examples include partnerships to provide legal services at no cost to those who are indigent, as well as bringing medical services to impoverished nations such as Malawi.
Providence plans to keep adding more stories to the digital hub. The health system also welcomes other not-for-profit organizations to reach out if they are interested in partnering.
"Health goes beyond the hospital and clinic. We’re looking for partners who can help us address the social factors that affect health from, housing and education to nutrition and mental health services,” said Hochman. “Our Mission calls us to be a healing presence and steadfast in serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. We are grateful to our hundreds of partner organizations, and look forward to using the new digital hub to tell their inspiring stories."
