As the pandemic exposed hospitals' shortcomings, health care systems are finding themselves moving towards the cloud faster than ever anticipated. Chief information officer, B.J. Moore, spoke with the Business Insider on Providence's partnership with Microsoft and the migration to Microsoft's cloud services and artificial intelligence tools.
The partnership came to agreement in 2019 and Moore acknowledged that the pandemic has sped up the organization's work with Microsoft beyond migrating to the cloud.
"Azure hosted PSJH's chat bot to triage patients online, coronavirus data and analytics, as well as machine learning programs meant to predict influxes of patients and upcoming drains in "precious" supplies like PPE, he said."
