Providence cancer researchers win international awards

Providence Cancer Institute researchers attended (virtually) the 35th annual meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, where scientists from around the world convened. In addition to contributing to 15 conference posters, the Providence team received several notable awards:

  • Inaugural Steven A. Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D., Scholar Award: Eric Tran, Ph.D.
  • Award for Extraordinary Service to the Society: Bernie Fox, Ph.D.
  • SITC Team Science Award: Earle A. Chiles Research Institute
  • Panelist for radiation and immunotherapy session: Kristina Young, M.D., Ph.D.
     

Chief diversity and inclusion officer named

Providence in Oregon has named Stephanie Piimauna as its new chief diversity and inclusion officer. Stephanie brings more than 25 years of diversity, equity and inclusion experience leading corporate strategy, business development, change management and talent development. She has led DEI strategies and programs in industries including hospitality, aerospace, transportation, law, retail and telecommunications. Her most recent role was with Gilead Sciences in Las Vegas.
 

Virtual pediatric grand rounds

Providence Children’s Health invites providers to participate in virtual pediatric grand rounds. A minimum of 10 events (45 minutes each) is offered annually on pediatric topics designed to support your practice. It is free to participate without CME. An innovative and affordable CME subscription model is available at the provider and practice level.

Pediatric topics vary and may focus on areas such as: surgery, ENT, gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, orthopedics, emergency medicine and more. See flyer for more information, to share with colleagues or to register.
