Cancer Moonshot relaunch aligns with Providence cancer initiatives
Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon, which played a role in the initial $1.8 billion Cancer Moonshot in 2016, supports White House efforts to decrease the death rate from cancer by 50% in 25 years. Providence St. Vincent named among Top 50 hospitals in U.S.
Providence St. Vincent Medical Center has received the top achievement from Healthgrades –the 2022 America’s 50 Best Hospitals recognition. The honor is based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services showing patient outcomes for the most common conditions and procedures. This is the second consecutive year Providence St. Vincent has earned this recognition. It is the only hospital in Oregon to achieve this recognition two years in a row.

Providence Heart Institute now offers services in Hillsboro
Providence patients now have access to cardiac care in the Hillsboro area with the addition of Kevin Woolf, M.D., a general cardiologist who has been practicing in the Hillsboro area for nearly 10 years. Dr. Woolf is currently serving patients at Providence Heart Clinic – Tanasbourne and then will join the new Providence Health Center Reed's Crossing practice beginning in late summer 2022.

Pediatric specialties clinic opens March 1 in Oregon City
Providence Pediatric Specialties – Oregon City, located on the Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center campus, opens March 1. Pediatric subspecialists at this location include: endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, ENT and general surgery. Families have the option for both in-person and virtual appointments. The above specialties also continue to be offered on the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center campus, plus pediatric infectious disease, orthopedics in collaboration with Shriners Hospitals for Children-Portland, and urology.

New hospital chief execs in Seaside and Milwaukie
Providence has named new chief executives for two of its hospitals in Oregon:
Rebecca Coplin is chief executive for the north coast area and Seaside
Rebecca has been named chief executive at Providence Seaside Hospital and the north coast area. She previously served there as interim chief executive and has worked at Providence for more than 20 years.
Victor Carrasco is chief executive for Providence Milwaukie Hospital
Victor comes to the chief executive position at Providence Milwaukie from southern California, where he served for 10 years as chief executive at three area community hospitals. Victor also is an adjunct professor at California State University San Bernadino and is a U.S. Navy veteran.
