How do I work from home with kids? Asking for a friend

In this Dharma Initiative-type ‘how to’ video, the Washington Post offers a unique and honest glimpse into the struggles that parents (in this case a dad) face as the shelter in place reality sits in.

Below are some quick tips we captured from the video.

  • Encourage your kids to be more independent. Allow them to dress themselves.
  • Get the kids involved in building a plan to structure the day.
  • You’re not a professional teacher, so don’t try to be one. Do your best.  
  • Have fun, be fluid. Build a fort, make chores a game and be imaginative.
  • Make time for your own well-being. Create moments of mindfulness.
