Mission Hospital to Host Four Part Parent-Teen Date Night

September 7, 2016

September 7, 2016, Laguna Beach, CA. Mission Hospital, part of St. Joseph Health, in collaboration with the Laguna Beach Community Coalition is proud to offer a series of key conversations for parents and their teens called, “Date Night: An Evening with the Important Adolescent in Your Life.”

“The Date Night courses are specifically designed to help bridge the gap in communication between Mom and Dad and their teen,” explains Marci Mednick, with Mission Hospital. “Mission Hospital is dedicated to serving the needs within our community and we are always looking for innovative ways to give back while also meeting a need. We see that it’s more difficult than ever to be a teen—and the parent of one. We want to help improve not only the health of those around us but also their overall quality of life, so these date nights will purposefully highlight the difficulties we all face, identify how to overcome them, and ultimately bring parents and their teens closer in relationship with one another.”

Running every Tuesday night for four weeks starting Tuesday, October 4, 2016, Date Night will cover a myriad of topics including communication, substance abuse, cyber safety and self confidence. Registrants can choose which nights they would like to attend, or attend the entire series. Mission Hospital has been diligent in bringing together local professionals who are leading experts in their fields. They will help guide parents and their teens through relevant exercises, all while providing a fun, relaxed and safe atmosphere that any teen can thrive in.

“With all the distractions in our busy lives, raising teenagers is now a monumental task,” added Mednick. “Date Night is a much needed break from emojis and screens. This important series will bring you and your teen together in ways you never thought imaginable.”
