November 12, 2019 Providence News Team

The gleaming, state-of-the-art Providence Little Company of Mary Advanced Care Center (ACC) opened its doors in 2018 and has filled rapidly with a number of health care services vital to the South Bay. Here is an update on services provided at the 106,000-square-foot ACC.

Already Opened

City of Hope I South Bay

State-of-the-art cancer care is provided at the ACC through a Providence partnership with City of Hope. This partnership allows South Bay residents to receive care from the staff of the world-renowned cancer center at a convenient location close to home. City of Hope oncologists utilize research-driven best practices to care for each patient with the latest, most innovative medicine. City of Hope, based in Duarte, is one of just 50 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers. It is recognized for research and treatment protocols that have advanced cancer care across the nation and around the globe.

Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center

The Providence Little Company of Mary Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center opened in December 2018. The addition of this new, convenient facility means the imaging center at the hospital can better accommodate the needs of inpatients and emergency room patients. The new imaging center offers every type of diagnostic imaging available: PET, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and X-ray. While appointments are recommended, if you have an order for imaging, you can walk in and staff will work to accommodate you.

For scheduling, call 310-303-6500. For general questions about the Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center call 310-316-2424.

Pacific Neuroscience Institute

Pacific Neuroscience Institute (PNI), the prestigious medical group from Santa Monica, opened its South Bay center on July 8, bringing dedicated neuroscience specialists to the South Bay. The institute’s South Bay center includes neurology, neurosurgery and neuro-interventional radiology. Other services include neuro-oncology and neuro-otology. Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The expertise of the PNI physicians was instrumental in helping us achieve this status and elevate stroke care at our medical center to the highest level. Later this year, PNI will open a research arm in its ACC offices as well as offer clinical-trial enrollment opportunities.

For more information on PNI at the ACC, call 424-212-5361.

Coming Next Year

Coastal Ortho

The Coastal Ortho group will relocate next year from its Sky Park office into a state-of-the-art new space in the ACC. Services include 16 exam rooms, a procedure room and an on-site rehabilitation clinic for physical therapy. Coastal Ortho will also open a rehab aquatics pool and an MRI imaging room on the campus of the ACC. Coastal Ortho is a group of eight physicians unique in their ability to offer a comprehensive range of orthopedic subspecialties, including hand, joint, spine, foot, ankle and lower extremities, elbow, shoulder and upper extremities, as well as trauma.

Surgery Center

The ACC will be home to a new surgery center next year. The center, expected to open in mid- 2020, will be a multispecialty center including orthopedics, general surgery, pain management, gynecology, cardiology and neurology. The 15,000-square-foot facility will feature four large operating rooms and a procedure room.
